Overview

Risti Wulansari is a co-founding partner of K&K Advocates, which was founded in 2011. Wulansari has extensive expertise in the field of intellectual property and has actively provided legal assistance to local and foreign clients in addressing various legal issues related to IP. Her experience in the field of IP spans over 24 years; she leads the firm’s IP prosecution team and oversees the IP practice in commercialization, franchising and licensing.  

Wulansari has handled various tasks related to registrations of trademark and geographical indication protection, industrial designs, copyrights and patents; enforcement of intellectual property rights; and handling various lines of work related to the commercialization of IP, including legal consultation services regarding franchising, licensing, distribution/agency, consumer protection and anti-monopoly, as well as issues related to media and data/privacy protection. She provides counsel to clients spanning various sectors, including FMCG, fashion, app-based transportation, consumer goods, F&B, media, ecommerce and tobacco. She advises as the legal representative in securing an exemption from the Ministry of Trade for a multinational furniture manufacturer and distributor specializing in ready-to-assemble products. Wulansari also offered advisory services to the world’s leading software manufacturer in a significant copyright case that made legal history. 

Wulansari is a licensed attorney and an IP consultant. She has authored articles on IP which have been featured in publications such as Bloomberg Law, Asia IP and Franchise Law Review. She actively participates as a speaker at numerous seminars addressing topics related to IP.
