Overview
Wei Pan graduated from the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a Ph.D. in engineering geology in 2005 and started his career as a patent attorney in a famous IP law firm for two years, before joining Unitalen in 2007. He also passed the U.S. Patent Bar Exam in 2015 after one year of study at Boston University.
His expertise covers all areas of patent law including patent procurement, re-examination, invalidation, FTO, patent administrative litigation and patent infringement litigation. His practice focuses on the technical fields of automotive, aircraft, household appliance, refrigeration, medical devices, measuring instruments, automation and other mechanical apparatus. He is very experienced in patent drafting and is highly praised by his clients, most of which are multi-national companies. With his solid technical and legal background, he has successfully handled significant number of complicated and difficult patent prosecution and litigation cases, secured his clients’ IP rights in China and abroad in the best way.
Dr. Pan has been actively engaged in patent theory and practice research and has published a number of articles in influential Chinese- and English-language IP magazines. He is frequently invited to attend international conferences and seminars and give presentations regarding Chinese patent law and practice.
