Weisun Rao has joined the Chicago office of Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in the firm’s intellectual property and technology practice. He will spend considerable time in the firm’s Shanghai office.
Rao will focus his practice on intellectual property law and business law. He is experienced in developing IP strategies and building and managing IP portfolios for legal and business opportunities in the United States, China and elsewhere in the world. Rao counsels clients on IP and business issues in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nutraceutical, medical device, advanced material and mechanical industries. He is particularly familiar the emerging pharmaceutical R&D and medical device industries in China, and regularly works with many of the key players.
In addition to his active IP practice, Rao is also experienced in advising non-Chinese clients on legal regulations and business practices in China and advising Chinese businesses interested in entering or expanding in the US market.
