Two Lawyers Join Allens In Sydney

Claire Gregg has joined Allens in Sydney; she is registered as a patent attorney in Australia and New Zealand, with expertise spanning a wide range of chemical disciplines, particularly organic and medicinal chemistry. Her education includes a PhD for research on the total synthesis and structural elucidation of complex biologically active natural products, and postdoctoral research in medicinal chemistry, focusing primarily on hitto- lead optimization of small molecule inhibitors of protein-protein interactions in highly validated cancer targets, followed by a Masters in intellectual property law from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Lena Balakrishnan has joined Allens in Sydney, where she is an associate. Balakrishnan started her career in molecular biology, completing her Masters of Science in genetics, and working at a Crown Research Institute in New Zealand that specializes in biotechnology research. She worked for more than three years as a trademark lawyer in New Zealand, and has worked for the past five years as a trademark attorney in Australia. Her practice involves advising clients on their options and strategies for obtaining Australian and New Zealand trademarks.
