Shift, a leading provider of credit and payment platforms for Australian businesses, has named Stephanie Olliver to the newly-created role of general counsel at the company. With responsibility for all strategic and daily legal matters, Olliver’s role will be critical as Shift continues to scale, the company said in a statement.
Jamie Osborn, CEO of Shift, said that Olliver’s experience in legal, governance, and risk management across financial services comes at an ideal time for Shift.
“Stephanie’s experience navigating legal and regulatory matters in digitally-led organizations is a great match for our business. Stephanie is a wonderful addition to the Shift team and will play an important role in helping us scale over the next phase of our growth.”
Olliver has previously held senior legal and company secretary roles at Nano Digital Home Loans and PayPal, where she oversaw the legal team in Australia in relation to a range of products, in addition to collaborating with the leadership team and the board across matters including credit, payments, banking, privacy and technology. During her career, which spans two decades, Olliver has also held legal roles at Macquarie Group and Morgan Stanley.
“As a passionate tech, payments and credit lawyer, I am excited to be part of a technology company that is growing rapidly and providing its business customers with straightforward, digital products that help support their growth,” Olliver said.
