Spruson & Ferguson (Australia) has named Andrea Ruhrmann a principal in its Sydney office, where she specializes in the field of mechanical engineering patents and registered designs. Her knowledge and experience encompasses a wide variety of technologies including medical devices, environmental engineering, mining equipment, petroleum engineering, gas turbine engines, automotive and aeronautical components and applications, consumer products and ventilation and filtration systems. She was also awarded a PhD for research in the field of Ground Effect Aerodynamics in association with the British American Racing Formula 1 team. Her research involved designing a wind tunnel test model and conducting both wind tunnel experiments and computational simulations of the model.
