Protecting the Dots, Spots and Bold Colours of Australia’s Indigenous People

Australia’s need to enact much more than a voluntary Code of Conduct to protect indigenous intellectual property is long overdue. Jenni Lightowlers explains why the Courts can only do so much to extend the notions of statutory regimes to offer protection which is ultimately insufficient and why Australia needs to enact laws which acknowledge, respect and afford legal protection to traditional knowledge.
