Lebanon extends deadlines for all IP matters

Jehad Ali Hasan | CEO @ JAH Intellectual Property, Doha

Due to the ongoing situation in Lebanon, the Lebanese Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is currently facing significant operational challenges, including employee absenteeism and technical issues with the online portal. “As a result, the IPO has announced an extension for all deadlines set to expire from Monday, September 23, 2024, until further notice. This extension has been verbally confirmed by the head of the IPO, although no official written memo has been issued,” said Jehad Ali Hasan, CEO at JAH Intellectual Property in Doha. “But despite these disruptions, the office continues to accept instructions for any intellectual property matters and all necessary formalities to be actioned with the IPO as soon as operations resume.”

He added: “All deadlines will be maintained during this period; while a formal written announcement is forthcoming, this extension has been confirmed verbally by the Head of the LIPO and has been put in actual effect.”
