Kate Harrison Has Returned To Gilbert + Tobin

Kate Harrison, a long-time partner of Gilbert + Tobin, has returned to the firm’s intellectual property and litigation groups after a period working for the Commonwealth Government, initially as senior adviser to John Faulkner (the then-Defence Minister), followed by a term working in Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s office. Her roles in Government included advising on areas of legal policy, parliamentary matters, defence issues, freedom of information and privacy issues.
She advises clients on intellectual property issues in a number of different industries, including technology, media and communications, the record industry, and consumer goods. She has in-depth experience in contentious IP matters, having represented parties in copyright and trademark disputes in the Federal Court and the Copyright Tribunal.
