Global law firm Dentons has named Milan-based partner Giangiacomo Olivi as Europe co-head of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology group. In this new role, he will work alongside Moscow-based co-head Denis Voevodin – who has held the practice leadership role for the last 13 years – to lead the strategy and development of the IP&T practice across continental Europe and Central Asia. 

Olivi advises top technology, telecoms, media and retail companies on a wide range of technology issues, including data management and digital transformation, data privacy as well as artificial intelligence. He is one of the most awarded lawyers in Italy and he is ranked as a top tier lawyer in the Technology Media and Telecommunications sector by multiple magazine publishers.

Voevodin has more than 30 years’ experience in intellectual property matters, including trademark, patent and copyright litigation proceedings as well as anti-counterfeit activity.  He is recognized as one of the top IP practitioners in Russia by multiple major directories.
