Airwallex Has Named Jeanette K. Chan As Chief Compliance Officer & General Counsel

Fintech company Airwallex has named Jeanette K. Chan as chief compliance officer and general counsel. Prior to Airwallex, Chan was managing partner and head of the Asia communications and technology practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where she worked for more than 30 years. She will lead Airwallex’s compliance and legal teams to support the company’s global expansion and new product development.
Corinna Yu, Paul Weiss counsel, will also be joining the company as legal director. Having spent more than 20 years at Paul Weiss, Yu brings deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and foreign direct investments into China.
Chan joined Paul Weiss in 1986 and initially worked in its Hong Kong, New York, Beijing and Shanghai offices. In 1992, she relocated to Hong Kong to take on the position of APAC senior international legal adviser at Cable & Wireless and, in 1994, she rejoined Paul Weiss as a leader in the firm’s regional practice.
