Baker & McKenzie has announced that intellectual property lawyer Winston Zee has been elected to serve on the firm’s executive committee. Zee advises foreign investors on a wide range of legal matters and transactions involving the People’s Republic of China and has handled foreign exchange issues, tax planning, the establishment of investment and operational structures, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

At the same time, Baker & McKenzie announced that Poh Lee Tan, a lawyer in the firm’s technology media and telecommunications practice, has been elected as the new managing partner of the firm’s Hong Kong, China and Vietnam offices. Her practice focuses on M&A and private equity transactions in the Asia Pacific region, with particular emphasis on the information technology and communications sector. She has advised and structured transactions in various countries in the region, including Hong Kong, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Korea.
