Overview

Atty. Cruz-Abrenica, a Junior Partner, has more than twelve (12) years of experience in IP prosecution for both trademarks and patents. She is a registered Patent Agent, having passed the Patent Agent Qualifying Examinations administered by the IPO and is a member of the Patent Committee of the AIPPI. She holds a master’s degree in Molecular Biology and has solid scientific research experience as a result of her research studies in Belgium and Japan for six (6) years. Her strong technical background and detail-oriented approach allows her to easily handle the bulk of V&A Law’s patent prosecution and invalidation cases, with a current focus on helping generic pharmaceutical companies bring affordable products into the country. Atty. Cruz-Abrenica has extensive experience in conducting Freedom to Operate Searches for V&A Law’s pharmaceutical clients as a precursor to commercialization of their products in the country. She likewise handles the trademark portfolios of several household brands such as Kia and Samsung.
