INTA Annual Meeting postponed to November
14 March 2020
The International Trademark Association has announced that the 2020 Annual Meeting, originally scheduled for Singapore, will now be held in November, and combined with the Leadership Meeting.
“During the past few weeks, since we announced the postponement of our 2020 Annual Meeting in Singapore, the INTA has been continuously monitoring the global coronavirus outbreak and diligently working to come up with the best option for an Annual Meeting this year. Throughout this process, the health and safety of registrants, staff, vendors, and the community at large has been of paramount importance” said Etienne Sanz de Acedo, the INTAs Chief Executive Officer, in a statement released today.
With the Singapore meeting already moved to 2022, the Association had originally hoped to organize the Annual Meeting in May or June, but fast-moving developments and escalating uncertainty caused by the virus have made that initial decision unviable. This uncertainty has manifested itself in the last 24 hours with a growing number of travel bans introduced by various countries around the world, something that would make large international gatherings all but impossible.
Dates, venues and registration details will follow, the statement said, with further details published on the INTA website at www.inta.org
