Guangdong: Flash Disc Patent Dispute

Shenzhen-based Netac Technology, inventor of a flash disc, filed a lawsuit against another local company, Infomicro Electronics, for allegedly using its patent to produce flash memory drives without authorization.

According to China Daily, Netac is asking the defendant for Rmb50 million (US$8 million) in damages, as patent licensing was an important part of Netac's business - contributing nearly 50% of its total revenue in 2013.
