Olga Sirakova, secretary general of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) has announced that John Bochnovic, executive director of the association, has resigned from the position effective April 30, 2018. Bochnovic will return to his native Canada for personal reasons, according to a release.
Sirakova noted that the association recognizes Bochnovic “for his long commitment and contribution to AIPPI over 30 years, variously as a member of the Canadian Group, President of the Canadian Group, Bureau member and, since September 2015, as executive director.”
During his term as executive director, Bochnovic oversaw the development of AIPPI’s Strategic Plan to guide AIPPI’s priorities over the next few years, consolidated and built relationships with GOs and NGOs thereby enhancing the standing of AIPPI internationally, and overseen restructuring within the general secretariat to enhance the delivery of services to AIPPI members.
AIPPI has commenced the process of recruiting a new executive director.
