India Finds Balancing IP Rights Tricky Business

Intellectual property rights, especially patents, have burst into the forefront of public debate as India struggles to modernise and take its place as an emerging-market leader in the global economy. However, the country is having trouble striking a balance between adhering to internationally accepted standards and being answerable to domestic pressures.
